Handmade gardenias, since 1980

Foamflora makes handmade foam gardenias in Bangkok, sold wholesale worldwide since 1980. The gardenia — na’u in Hawaiian, and cousin to the Tahitian tiare — is the flower people reach for when a piece has to read pure white: bridal hair, wedding bouquets, lei po’o and church hats. A fresh gardenia bruises brown where a thumb touched it and is finished by the next morning. Ours is hand-assembled from foam, petal by petal, so the white stays white through a season of wear, shipping and storage.

The collection runs to more than twenty designs, from a 5 cm bud to an 11 cm open bloom. The small sizes fill out a lei or haku without crowding it; 7–9 cm is the everyday hair-pick and clip size; the largest blooms carry a bridal comb or a stage piece on their own. All designs are made to order — minimum 100 pieces per design, 20 per color — and ship worldwide from Bangkok.

Are Foamflora gardenias real flowers?

No — each gardenia is hand-assembled from foam petals in the shape and color of the living flower. Unlike a fresh gardenia, it does not bruise brown where it is handled, does not wilt in heat or humidity, and holds up to years of wear.

Do they have a scent?

No. Our gardenias are unscented, which is deliberate — it keeps them safe for guests with fragrance sensitivities and means nothing transfers to hair, fabric or packaging in storage.

What size should I choose?

5–6 cm works as filler in a lei or haku, where a larger bloom would crowd the piece. 7–9 cm is the everyday size for hair picks and clips, and where most orders sit. 10–11 cm carries a bridal comb or stage piece on its own. Buyers stocking a shop usually start with a 7 cm and a 9 cm.

What is the minimum order?

100 pieces per design, with at least 20 pieces per color. Checkout places no payment — we email your full quote, including shipping, within 1 business day.
