Why it is given

A lei is a thing you hand to someone

In Hawaii a lei marks the moment — an arrival, a graduation, a first performance, a goodbye. It is placed over someone’s head by hand, which is why it is almost never bought for oneself. That changes what a good lei has to do: it has to survive the journey to the person, and it has to be worth keeping afterwards.

A fresh lei has hours. Ours are made from foam flowers, strung by hand on the bench next to where we make our hula flowers — so it ships anywhere in the world, arrives looking the way it left, and comes out of the drawer again for the next occasion.

Length measurement of a handmade plumeria flower lei
L029 Plumeria43 · 55 cm · 54 flowers per lei
How to read a lei

Two numbers tell you everything

Length decides how it sits — a shorter lei rests at the collarbone, a longer one falls to the chest. Flower count decides how full it looks: two lei of the same length can read very differently depending on how densely they are strung.

Both numbers are printed on every product page. The L029 plumeria lei above, for example, is 55 cm with 54 flowers. Need a different length for a costume or a child? We string to order.

About this collection

Lei strung by hand, made to last

A lei marks a moment — an arrival, a graduation, a first performance, a goodbye. It is placed over someone’s head by hand, which is why it is almost never bought for oneself, and why the ones worth giving are the ones that survive the journey to the person and are still worth keeping afterwards.

Ours are strung flower by flower on the bench beside where we make our hula flowers, from the same foam blooms: plumeria, pikake, tuberose, kukunaokala, pua kenikeni, crown flower and rose. Every design lists two numbers on its product page — length, which decides how it sits, and flower count, which decides how full it looks. Two lei of the same length can read very differently depending on how densely they are strung.

Because the flowers are foam, nothing wilts on the way and nothing fades in storage: a lei ships anywhere in the world, arrives looking the way it left, and comes out of the drawer again for the next occasion. Everything is made to order for wholesale — minimum 20 pieces per design, 20 pieces per colour, shipped worldwide from our family workshop in Bangkok, where we have made flowers since 1980. Need a different length for a costume or a child? We string to order.

Quick answers

Lei questions, answered

How long are the lei?

Length is listed in centimetres on every product page — the L029 plumeria lei, for example, is 55 cm with 54 flowers. A shorter lei rests at the collarbone; a longer one falls to the chest. We also string custom lengths for costumes and for children.

Why does flower count matter?

It decides how full the lei looks. Two lei of the same length can read very differently depending on how densely they are strung, so we print the count alongside the length.

Which flowers do you make lei from?

Plumeria, pikake, tuberose, kukunaokala, pua kenikeni, crown flower and rose — twelve designs in total.

Will they wilt or fade?

No. They are foam, so they survive heat, humidity, handling and years of re-use — which is what makes them practical to ship worldwide and to keep between occasions.

Can I order lei together with hair clips?

Yes — lei and hair clips ship on the same order and the same quote. No second conversation, no separate invoice.

What is the minimum order?

20 pieces per design and 20 pieces per colour, shipped worldwide from Bangkok.
